Physical Education News from Mrs. Mc

CTK Swimming Carnival

After covid cancellations, we were finally able to conduct our 2022 Swimming Carnival, at a new venue – Melville Aquatic Centre in Booragoon on Tuesday, 18 October. The Indoor Centre was ideal and the staff went out of their way to ensure a wonderful day was had by the children. Donovan House leapt out of the blocks and never looked back, winning with 394 points, followed by Milne (275), McTavish (255) and De Vialar (250). Individual medallists were: Florence, Ella, Raph, Savannah, Riley, Oscar, Patrice, Dominique, Bailey, Antionette, Bailen, Taj, Finn, Jamie, Emma, Ahlia, Leo, Logan, Daniel, Maya, Tom C, Liam, Noah, Monique, Tom D, Maverick, Jaida.

ASCS Athletics Carnival

The Athletics Carnival was held at Len Shearer Reserve. All schools are handicapped due to numbers, and CTK finished 6th overall. Congratulations to Savannah Blackwood who received a Silver Medal and Patrice Maguire finished in 3rd place overall.
The biggest positive about the day was that the kids had fun.

Parent Participation

Centre competitions cannot operate without the assistance of parents and other adult volunteers fulfilling the many and varied duties required each week. These include officiating at an event; managing an age group; recording results; working at the BBQ or becoming a committee member. You don’t need any experience and a key official at each site will give you instruction on what to do to ensure our competitions run smoothly.
