Welcome to Week Six!
Wellness Week
Wellness Week at Christ the King is in full swing! Wellness Week is always a huge success amongst students and staff. Students loved going ‘homework free’ and it has been lovely to hear the stories of how students use their time otherwise, such as visiting neighbours, cooking with family and playing board games with family and friends. The students thoroughly enjoyed our whole school morning workout on Wednesday and have enjoyed meeting their new buddies this week! Staff have loved receiving the coffee vouchers from the P&F. Thank you to our amazing staff wellness team, for coordinating Wellness Week for our whole school.
NAPLAN
NAPLAN is a National Literacy and Numeracy assessment that students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit each year. NAPLAN information for parents and caregivers has been communicated. The NAPLAN test window starts on Wednesday 13 March and finishes on Monday 25 March, 2024. For more information about NAPLAN, please visit https://nap.edu.au/. We encourage parents and caregivers to keep conversations about NAPLAN as relaxed and reassuring as possible to minimise any nervousness.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parents and Guardians will have the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher/s on Wednesday 27 March (Week 9) from 12.30pm. Parent Teacher interviews will be conducted across all year groups in ten-minute rotations. We respectfully ask that parents/guardians keep to the ten-minute limit, to ensure the afternoon runs smoothly and on time. Information will be forthcoming, shortly.
Sacrament Commitment Masses – Year 3, 4 and 6 students
If your child is receiving their First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion or Confirmation this year, you and your child are required to attend a Commitment Mass at Christ the King Church this Saturday 9 March at 6pm or Sunday 10 March at 10am. Please contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have questions or concerns regarding this.
Student Spotlight
Over the weekend, Bailen Allen (Year 5) played in the Teeball WA State Championships 2024 for his club the ‘Canning Cougars’. They played 5 games over 3 days and won 3 out of 5. They defeated the Rockingham Raptors, Batavia Coast and Willeton Wildcats, finishing 4th overall in the Under 12s B division. Congratulations Bailen! We are so proud of YOU!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
