Week 6 Term 1 2025
NAPLAN
NAPLAN is a national assessment of literacy and numeracy for students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9, held annually. The NAPLAN test window will run from Wednesday 12 March to Monday 24 March, 2025. We encourage parents and caregivers to maintain a relaxed and reassuring tone when discussing NAPLAN to help ease any anxiety. Our students are doing very well so far!
2025 Sacramental Commitment Masses
The Sacramental Commitment Masses for students preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation (Year Three), First Holy Communion (Year Four) and Confirmation (Year Six) will take place on the weekend of Saturday 15 March (6pm) and Sunday 16 March (10am) at Christ the King Church. During these Masses, children from Christ the King will join parishioners to publicly commit to preparing for their Sacraments in 2025. Sacramental Enrolment Forms will be available at the Parish Mass over the weekend. If your child is enrolling in one of the above Sacraments this year, you must attend one of the Masses over this weekend. Please return all completed enrolment forms to your classroom teacher, as soon as possible. As the year progresses, the children will continue preparing for their Sacramental celebrations. Let us all keep them, their families and the staff guiding them in our prayers.
Project Compassion
We begin to reflect ever more on the suffering that Jesus was about to face, and we take time to consider ways that we can live better and reduce the suffering of those around us. As a Catholic school, we are strong in our support of Caritas and Project Compassion. Thank you for assisting your child/ren in making contributions to their Project Compassion. Could you please ensure compassion boxes are returned to the school office during Week 10, Term 1. We appreciate your support.

After School Play Guidelines
As We’ve Been Fortunate to Enjoy Warm Weather This Term, We Understand the Temptation for Children to Stay and Play on School Grounds After the School Day Ends. While This May Seem Harmless, There Are Several Important Safety Considerations that We, as A School, Must Consider Ensuring the Well-Being of All Students at Christ the King School.
At the End of The Day, We Do Not Have Staff on Duty to Supervise Students Who Remain on The Premises. This Raises Concerns About Student Safety, as We Cannot Always Determine Which Children Are with A Parent and Which Are Not. Additionally, There Are Risks Such as Children Running Into the Carparks or Injuring Themselves on Playground Equipment. Many Staff Members Are Also Working in Classrooms or Attending Parent and Staff Meetings at This Time, so Having Children Playing Ball Games or Riding Bikes Through the Quadrangle Is Not Ideal and Safe.
While Our School Grounds Are Certainly Inviting, Our Students Can Enjoy Them During Designated Play Times Within School Hours. We Encourage Parents to Take Advantage of The Nearby Local Parks for After-School Play if Desired. Ensuring the Safety and Care of Our Students Is Always Our Top Priority. as Such, We Kindly Request that Parents Refrain from Allowing Children to Use the Play Equipment or Engage in Ball Games Etc After School.

Message from the School Nurse – Miss Andrea Mangan
We wanted to give you a friendly heads-up that there seems to be a tummy bug making its way through the school community this week. It is presenting with symptoms such as tummy aches, slight paleness, and vomiting, but no fever. Many children are feeling better quite quickly, but some are experiencing a second round of vomiting not long after.
As always, the health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and wider school community is our priority. We kindly remind families that if your child vomits, they must remain at home for at least 24 hours after their last episode of vomiting before returning to school as per WA Health guidelines. This is an important step in helping to prevent the spread of illness, particularly as we have some students and staff who are immunocompromised.
We completely understand that keeping children home can sometimes be challenging, but your cooperation helps protect not only your child but also their classmates, teachers, and the broader community of Beaconsfield. We truly appreciate your support in keeping CTK a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
If your child is feeling unwell, please keep them home, encourage plenty of rest, and ensure they stay hydrated. Thank you for working with us to look after the health of our school community. Please feel free to contact me directly by calling the school or emailing me at andrea.mangan@cewa.edu.au if you have any concerns or questions.

On Saturday 8th March the P&F held the Election Sausage Sizzle and Bake Sale at school to help raise money for the new Nature Playground. It was a HUGE success, and we sold nearly 600 Sausage Sizzles and all of the Yummy Baked Goods that were so kindly donated. A huge thank you to all of the Volunteers who gave their time and to all of the wonderful people who donated delicious treats. I would like to say a very special thank you to the owners and family of Banovich Pharmacy for the donation of 2 brand new Eskys to the P&F. What a great community we have CTK!
The Annual Easter Raffle is fast approaching, and we are asking for donations of Art & Crafts, Games, Toys, Kids Gift Vouchers, Easter Gift Bags and Easter anything! All donations can be left inside the allocated P&F tub outside of the school office. The raffle tickets purchased will be collated online and the draw will be held on Friday 11th April at 2:15pm in the hall via an electronic spinning wheel! Paper copies of the tickets will be in the office for cash payments. Please place completed tickets in an envelope in the P&F Letterbox. All tickets must be purchased or returned by Friday 4th April. Thank you in advance for all of your support and generosity.
