A Message from our School Nurse – Ms Andrea Mangan

💧 Stay Cool & Hydrated! A Friendly Reminder for Families 💧

As the cooler months settle in, it can be easy to forget the importance of staying hydrated—but our children’s bodies still need just as much water to stay healthy, focused, and energised throughout the school day. We’re encouraging all families to ensure your child brings a labelled, reusable water bottle to school each day. While we do have water fountains available, they’re often not enough to meet daily hydration needs—especially with busy classroom activities, playtimes, and sport.

🧠 Why Water Matters:

  • Boosts brain power – Hydrated children concentrate better and retain information more effectively.
  • Improves mood and behaviour – Staying hydrated helps regulate emotions and reduces irritability.
  • Supports overall health – Water aids digestion, circulation, and even immune function!
  • Builds lifelong healthy habits – Learning to drink water regularly is a skill that will benefit them for years to come.
  • We’ve noticed that when students stay hydrated, their energy levels improve, focus increases, and everyone—teachers and classmates alike—benefits from a more positive classroom environment.
  • Thank you for your continued support in allowing us to helping students stay happy, healthy, and ready to learn.

A Grateful Thanks to Mrs Anita Letizia – LifeVac Donation

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Anita, one of our wonderful staff members and parents, for her incredibly generous gift to our school — a LifeVac choking rescue device. For those unfamiliar, LifeVac is a simple, non-invasive device designed to help clear an upper airway obstruction in the event of choking, when standard first aid procedures like back blows and abdominal thrusts may not be effective. This device has been credited with saving hundreds of lives worldwide, and while we all hope we never have to use it, having one on site brings us an added layer of safety and peace of mind.

We are truly grateful to Anita for thinking of the school community and gifting this vital device. Our goal moving forward is to have three LifeVac devices across the school so each area has quick and easy access in an emergency.

Thank you, Anita — your kindness may one day make all the difference.

Messages from the P&F President – Mrs Suraya Correia

The P&F would like to acknowledge all of the people behind the scenes who have so selflessly volunteered their time over the last few weeks. Whether this be in person setting up or facilitating stalls, putting 1000 streamers on a photo backdrop or through sourcing raffle prizes and sporting equipment for the kids to all enjoy. There are so many things that so many amazing people have helped with and our school is so lucky to have many such kind and generous families all lending a hand when it’s needed the most. Thank you so much.

We would also like to thank all of the parents who submitted feedback regarding the Mothers Day Activities/Stalls this year. The responses were overwhelmingly positive and we have some helpful considerations that will be included in next year’s planning.

The Mothers Day Stalls brought in a massive $3600 which has helped us take a big step towards our fundraising goal of $50k, for the new Nature Playground that will commence later this year.

Due to the cooler next few months, the Wednesday Ice-Creams have now stopped. We would love to continue selling them on Friday’s and continue to provide the Lunch Orders for the students – But we need your help! We are currently short on volunteers, and without enough support, we may unfortunately need to pause Friday lunch orders as well. If you’re able to spare an hour of your time on a Friday to help with Lunch Orders & Ice-Creams, we’d be incredibly grateful. Many hands make light work and your contribution makes a big difference for our school community. You can sign up to assist on the P&F Hub.

The much anticipated Doughnut Day will be held this year on Friday 6th June. The Menu will soon be sent out so your children can see what we will be selling on the day. There will be a variety of delicious doughnuts to choose from including Iced, Jam, Cinnamon, Mini Balls and of course the popular Krispy Kremes! We will also have the yummy OMG doughnuts available again for any kids who have dietary restrictions. If you would like to sign up to help on the day, please jump onto the hub and let us know.

Our next meeting is being held on Wednesday 11th June at 5-6pm in the library. We would love to see you there and help us start planning Term 3.
