Sacramental Programs – Years 3, 4 & 6
A heartfelt congratulations to our Year 3 students who have recently received the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated Year 3 teachers, and Father Isidore for their guidance and support throughout this important milestone. We also thank our parents and guardians for their continued involvement and encouragement during this meaningful journey. Meanwhile, our Year 6 students are in the final stages of preparation for their Sacrament of Confirmation, taking place this Sunday. We send our best wishes to all Confirmation candidates as they prepare to receive this significant Sacrament in their faith journey.
A reminder of Sacrament dates and times below;
- Sacrament of Confirmation – Sunday 8 June, 10am at Christ the King Church
- Sacrament of Holy Communion – Sunday 22 June, 10am at Christ the King Church
Report Time is Approaching!
The Mid-Year Reports for students will be available for parents on SEQTA Engage at the end of Term Two. Please check your login details NOW to ensure that you have access prior to the reports being released in Week 10.
New families from Year 1 to Year 6 and all Pre-Primary families will receive a welcome email next week directing you to set up your account for SEQTA Engage. Both parents will be sent the email, however, if you are happy to operate just one login for both parents, you don’t need to set up the second one. If you can’t see the email in your Inbox, please check your Junk or Spam folders as sometimes these emails will appear there as they are sent in bulk.

Reports for 2025 – Understanding Your Child’s Report for PP – Year 6
Parents will receive 2 Formal Academic Reports this year:
July – Mid Year Report:
This report provides parents with a ‘snapshot in time’ of how their child is progressing in relation to the end-of-year achievement standard for each learning area for their year level. The grade provided is taking into account the curriculum which has been taught and assessed to that point in time.
December – End of Year Report:
This report provides parents with an overview of how their child has progressed, across the entire year, in relation to the end of year Achievement Standard for each learning area for their year level. The grade provided is taking into account the curriculum which has been taught and assessed across the entire year, not just Semester Two.
Understanding the Grading System
Is a ‘C’ grade good? Yes, you should celebrate ‘C’ grades as this indicates that your child has progressed to the desired level of understanding for his/her year level.
Is a ‘C’ grade just a pass like it used to be? No, a ‘C’ grade today, is the expected Achievement Standard for each year level and each Learning Area.
Does an ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade mean my child is working a year or two above their current grade? No, an ‘A’ or ‘B’ grade means that your child is responding to the content taught to a deeper level. They may be thinking more critically about the content, which is a wonderful skill to demonstrate.
How are final grades determined? Teachers collect numerous samples of work and assessments to determine the final grade. The grade is determined with the use of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority’s (SCSA) Judging Standards. For more information on this go to https://parent.scsa.wa.edu.au/

Reminders & Housekeeping:
Absences
A gentle reminder, that if your child is unwell, please let the school office know by 9am via phone or email. There’s no need to wait for a message from us. Thank you for helping us keep everyone healthy this season.
Attendance & Extended Leave
Consistent attendance is key to your child’s learning and overall progress. If your family is planning to be away for five or more school days, please complete an Extended Absence Form. This form is available from the school office, on our school website or can be downloaded here. All extended absences must be submitted in advance and approved by the Principal. Thank you for helping us support your child’s learning journey.
Punctuality Matters
There are still a number of students arriving late to school. Our classroom doors open at 8:30am. Please aim to arrive between 8:30am and 8:40am. Being on time helps students start the day calmly and confidently. Students arriving after 8:40am must sign in at the front office and collect a late pass.
Pick-Up Time
There are also several students who are being collected late afterschool. Please remember that pick up times are: 2:45pm (Kindy/Pre-Kindy) and 3pm (PP–Year 6). If you’re delayed, please arrange alternative pick-up or use Village OSHC. Calling at 3pm makes it very difficult for us at school to relay messages in time, so thank you for always planning ahead.
Uniform Reminder
As part of our commitment to maintaining high standards and a sense of pride in our school community, we would like to remind all students and families about our uniform expectations. Lately, our staff have noticed an increase in students wearing incorrect uniform items, including:
- Nike or branded sports socks
- Grey or different coloured socks
- Sneakers/joggers instead of the requiredblack leather/leather look lace-up shoes
Black leather/leather look school shoes should be as per this image. Please note that; black sneakers or cross trainers are not permitted with the formal school uniform.
A reminder that students’ hair should be neatly tied back using ties in the correct school colours, with hair kept out of the face. Please ensure all uniform items and belongings are clearly labelled to assist with their return if misplaced.
We kindly ask that all students attend school each day in the correct uniform. We commend those students who consistently take pride in their appearance and uphold our uniform standards. Wearing the correct uniform fosters a sense of discipline, school spirit and pride in our community. Thank you for your ongoing support in maintaining these expectations.

A Message from our School Nurse – Ms Andrea Mangan
Notification of Head Knocks – Our Duty of Care
At Christ the King School, the health and safety of your children is our top priority. As part of our commitment to providing a safe and caring environment, I want to update you on our approach to managing and communicating head knocks that occur during the school day.
🧠 Why You May Receive a Call About a Head Knock
Under current school health guidelines and CEWA protocols, we are required to notify parents or guardians any time a child receives a knock to the head—even if it appears minor or if the child feels fine. This does not necessarily mean there is an injury, and often, no medical treatment is needed. However, because injuries involving the head can be unpredictable, we have a duty of care to inform you, so you are aware and can monitor your child at home if needed.
🔍 What This Means for You
You may receive a phone call, message, or email letting you know your child has had a head knock.
The communication will usually include:
- When and how it happened
- How your child presented afterwards
- Any first aid or care provided at school
In many cases, your child will be perfectly well and continue with their school day.
🩹 Our Protocols at School Include:
Immediate assessment and monitoring by staff
- Application of ice packs (if needed)
- Observation for signs of concussion or distress
- Notification to parents as soon as possible
👨👩👧 What You Can Do
If you are notified, we recommend keeping an eye on your child for the next 24–48 hours, even if they seem fine.
Look out for symptoms such as:
- Headache
- Nausea or vomiting
- Dizziness or drowsiness
- Unusual behaviour or confusion
If you have any concerns, consult your GP or seek medical advice.
We appreciate your understanding and support in this matter. Our goal is always to act in the best interest of your child’s wellbeing, and we believe clear communication with families is key.

Messages from the P&F President – Mrs Suraya Correia
Firstly, we have some news to share with you all.
Simone McGurk was recently running a “P&C Appreciation Day” Face Book Competition where she encouraged school communities to post their appreciation for their schools P&F on her post. The kind, beautiful and heartfelt comments that were posted about CtK were genuinely appreciated, and we are SO excited to tell you that… WE WON!! Thank you to everyone who commented and we are so proud to have helped win a $250 Paper Bird Book Voucher for the school. What a great community we have, and this is a big pat on the back to all of you who continuously help the P&F run its events and fundraisers throughout the year. YAY CtK, You’re amazing!
On Friday 6th June we will be celebrating National Doughnut Day with our annual Doughnut Stall! We have a scrumptious selection of sweet round treats to choose from and the yummy menu is now up on the P&F Hub for you to check out. We will have Iced, Cinnamon, Custard, Jam, Mini Doughnut Balls and even Krispy Kreme Doughnuts available for purchase on the day. We are also super excited to be offering fresh OMG doughnuts again this year for any children who have dietary requirements. All monies should be sent with your child in a labelled snap lock bag/envelope on the day.
Last week we launched the Tommy Sugo Pasta Fundraiser and have had a great response so far. A percentage of every order that is made through our fundraising link, will be donated back to CtK. They have a huge range of Pre-Made Pasta/Lasagna, Stuffed Ravioli/Gnocchi, Sauce, Arancini’s and a Gluten Free Range, which will be sure to warm up every tummy on these cold winters nights! The orders are delivered straight to your door on your preferred delivery day. Please share the link with your family and friends and don’t let this fundraiser PASTA you by! The last day for orders will be on Friday 4th July.
The last P&F Meeting of Term 2 will be held on Wednesday 18th June at 5-6pm in the Library. We encourage you to come along and help with the planning of Term 3.
