Dear Parents, Caregivers and Community Members,
We thank you Lord, for this term.
For the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt.
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to be a practical Christians these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others.
To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents,
And a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen
Young children are filled with wonder about the world and are open to discovering the Mystery of God through hands-on play, especially in the natural environment that God provided. Drawing from this gift of imagination can nurture this openness to God. Everything in nature speaks to us of God’s love.
The SUN is God warming us.
The BREEZE is God caressing us.
The GROUND on which you stand is God holding you in His protecting hands.
The AIR we breathe is God sustaining our life.
The WATER we drink is God quenching our thirst.
The FRUIT we eat is God feeding us.
Just spending time in God’s natural creation can do wonders for a weary soul.
Psalm 23:2-3
From My Readings……
In the midst of personal trials and challenges – we can effectively alleviate not just our own suffering but also the suffering of those around us.
Sometimes, it can seem easier to just stay stuck in our emotions around a particular struggle, than to look for the opportunity to grow from it.
We may be stuck in anger or a sense of injustice. Or, we might feel victimised or scared. Or, perhaps you’ve been unable to move past feeling that, you really “didn’t deserve what happened’.
The key to transcending any difficulty actually lies in letting go.
But letting go doesn’t mean settling for what we don’t want in life. Letting go is an emotional and physical process, to help us rise above a difficult situation and create a newer better life for ourselves.
By letting go, we are opening a pathway of acceptance of ‘what is’ instead of staying stuck in ‘what should be’.
Open Night – Reporting and Assessment
What a wonderful evening Open Night was! Unlike last year’s stormy weather, we were greeted with a beautiful clear sky and a full ‘Harvest’ Moon which made the event even more special. I hope you all had the opportunity to celebrate your children’s learning and witness the dedication and hard work of our CtK staff. A heartfelt thank you to all of our staff for everything you do every day—you are truly amazing!
A huge thank you to all the families who attended; the sense of community spirit was palpable. The Lego creations were absolutely outstanding once again! A special congratulations and thank you to Monty Davis, Meg Scanlan and Alison Reddyhough for their incredible effort in setting up the impressive Lego displays.
We always welcome your feedback, so please feel free to email your child’s class teacher or me directly. Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to the P&F for organising the sausage sizzle and for the excellent cooking—it’s great to see funds raised for our P&F!
Thank you all for making Open Night such a memorable occasion!
Athletics Carnival
I would like to take a moment to congratulate and thank Mrs. McLinden for her exceptional hard work and dedication in ensuring that both days were a tremendous success. The children who participated expressed their gratitude for all her careful planning and organisation.
Thank you to our fantastic staff for being so brilliant and supportive throughout both days. Your commitment made a significant difference.
A heartfelt thank you to all the parents for being there to support your child and all the competitors. We truly value your continued contributions to our school community.
Now, I want to take a moment to address an unfortunate incident that occurred during our athletics event Friday. As staff members, we strive to create a positive and supportive environment for all our students, but on this occasion, a few of us experienced some unsavoury behaviour from a small number of parents.
I fully understand the passion and excitement that comes with competitive sports. As someone who has been involved in state level sport throughout my life, I greatly appreciate the desire to see our children excel. However, it’s crucial to remember that primary school sports are meant to foster teamwork, personal growth, and enjoyment rather than intense competition.
We must remind ourselves that our children are there to learn and develop their skills in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Disregarding that spirit can have negative repercussions not only on our students but also on the overall community. I encourage all of us to reflect on how we can support our children through positive encouragement, showing respect to staff, and each other, regardless of the outcomes.
Let us all strive to be role models for our children, demonstrating sportsmanship, respect, and kindness. Together, we can create an uplifting environment that enhances their experience in sports and encourages them to love what they do. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Thank You!
I would like to sincerely thank Mrs. Natasha Sobejko for stepping in as the Year 6 Gold class teacher over the past five weeks. She has been truly wonderful, and we cannot express our gratitude enough for her positivity, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the children and their learning. Thank you, Mrs. Sobejko, for making such a positive impact during your time with us!
Happy Holidays
As this is our last newsletter for the term, I wish to thank everyone in our wonderful community for their support of their children, and one another. I thank you all for your precious children whom I thoroughly enjoy sharing in their learning journey. I thank our amazing teachers and supportive community for their combined efforts in helping our children grow towards God’s vision for them. Have a wonderful holiday; relax, enjoy, stay safe and see you ready for a fantastic, hectic, wild, and amazing Term Four! Term Four commences for students on Tuesday, 8 October. Summer uniform is to be worn please. All staff will be at another Berry Street PD Day on Monday 7 October.
There are ‘great things’ happening in our school due to the efforts of so many people; seek to be one of those people in the coming week!
Keep smiling and let’s do great things together!
