Welcome Back to Term 1

It has been wonderful to welcome all students and staff back to Christ the King School for the 2026 academic year. There was a great sense of excitement as new students joined our community and returning students settled back into familiar routines. Inclusivity remains a strong focus at CtK, and this was evident throughout the first weeks of the school year.

Our staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure classrooms were well prepared for the year ahead. Learning spaces are clean, bright and inviting, and we thank our dedicated staff for their commitment and preparation.

We look forward to creating and sharing many special moments with you throughout the year. Thank you for your support in ensuring your child was organised and well prepared for the first day of school, it is very much appreciated.

It has been lovely walking into classrooms each morning and seeing our students engaged and happy in their learning environment. This is what some of our children loved about their first few weeks at CtK:

Oliver A – Year 6: I just love everything about our school and about Year 6!

Georgia B – Year 6: I loved meeting my new teacher and getting to know everyone a little bit more!

Sophie S – Year 5: I loved seeing all my friends again and meeting my new teacher!

Ava C – Year 5: I liked setting up everything in our classroom and I loved meeting my new teacher!

Josh P – Year 5: I liked meeting new friends and Mrs Wright!

Archie – Year 1 student: I loved going to the oval and playing handball at recess and lunch!

2026 Parent Information Evening

Our Parent Information Evening was a great success. Thank you to the parents and carers who were able to attend and meet with classroom teachers.

We encourage families to contact teachers with any concerns or queries, acknowledging that staff will respond within 48 hours. We appreciate your support in respecting family time and ask that communication be made during the school day wherever possible.

Sacrament Commitment Masses (compulsory)

Students intending to enrol in the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist or Confirmation in 2026 are required to attend one of the Parish Commitment Masses at Christ the King Church, as a sign of their commitment. During the Mass, students will be invited to stand and pledge their commitment to the Sacrament.

Parish Mass times:

Saturday 14 March at 6pm
Sunday 15 March at 10am

Please note:

Students enrolling in their First Holy Communion must have already received the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Students enrolling in Confirmation must have already received both the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

NAPLAN 2026

NAPLAN is a national literacy and numeracy assessment undertaken by students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 each year. NAPLAN information for parents and carers of students in Years 3 and 5 will be sent home shortly. Please check your child’s school bag. Further information about NAPLAN can be found at:

Whole School Crunch and Sip

Crunch and Sip is a nutrition program that encourages students to eat more fruit and vegetables and drink water during the school day. All students are required to bring a small container of crunchy fruit or vegetables each day for their Crunch and Sip break. Teachers have advised classes of their scheduled Crunch and Sip time. This daily break supports student health, concentration and learning. Helpful guides for packing Crunch and Sip and healthy lunchboxes can be found at:

School Attendance

Regular attendance plays a vital role in student engagement and academic success. We ask families to set clear expectations around daily attendance and establish morning routines that support punctual arrival. Please notify the school of any absences before 9am so your child can be accounted for. Please do not wait for a message from the school. Absences can be reported to the school by:

Whilst holidays during school term is not encouraged, if you have planned absences of five days or more, an Extended Absence Form must be completed and approved by the Principal, prior to the absence. This form is available here:

Arrival and Dismissal – Years 1 to 6

Supervision for students in Years 1 to 6 begins at 8.10am in the quadrangle. Classroom doors open at 8.28am, with teaching and learning commencing at 8:40am. Students should not arrive before 8.10am unless attending before-school care or a scheduled co-curricular activity. Classes conclude at 2.45pm for our Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten students and 3pm for PP-6. Please ensure your child knows their daily travel arrangements and that they are collected promptly. Any changes to dismissal arrangements should be communicated to the front office during the day. We ask families to respect staff time before and after school, as this is when staff are engaged in preparation, meetings and administration. Appointments should always be made where necessary. The safety, health and wellbeing of all students remains our highest priority.

Early Childhood Car Park & Staff Car Park

The Early Childhood Car Park is reserved for families of children in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Pre-Primary, as well as those with special permission. Please ensure you have a ECE carpark permit left on your dashboard of your car. Children in these year levels must be collected directly from their classrooms. A reminder to please not park in our staff car park. This is allocated to staff only and bays are limited. Thank you for your cooperation.

House Prayer Card Competition

Earlier this year, students from Years 3-6 took part in our House Prayer Card Competition. As part of this project, students were invited to design an illustration that represented their House leaders and values. These wonderful artworks are now being transformed into special House Prayer Cards, which every student will receive at the end of the year. The heartfelt prayers that appear on the back of each card were written by our talented Year 6 students. We’re very excited to announce the following winners for their factions:

This is a fantastic achievement! The winning designs will be printed and shared across our school community for everyone to enjoy and celebrate. The winners were officially announced following our CtK Mass. We can’t wait to share these beautiful cards with our school community, a lasting celebration of our faith, creativity, and the strong sense of community that makes our school so special.

A Message from Our Head Girl and Head Boy

Head Girl 2026 – Charlotte Millett

Welcome back to school everyone, we hope you’ve enjoyed your first week! I am Charlotte Millet your Head Girl for 2026 and I am so excited to be your Head Girl! I am happy to be working with you all and I am here to help whenever you need. I have been at Christ the King for 7 years and I’m looking forward to my 8th! On the other hand, I would like to give a warm welcome to all the students and teachers, especially those who are new to the school. I hope you all have a wonderful year and good luck!

Head Boy 2026 – Caelan Lloyd

Hello and welcome back everybody. I hope everyone had a very nice start to this year. I am Caelan Lloyd, your Head Boy for 2026 and I am extremely excited to come up with new ideas, help those in need, and be your Head Boy for 2026. I have been at this school since Pre Kindy, which is 8 years! I hope all new students and staff had a welcoming start to this year at CTK. Have an enjoyable year.
