Welcome to Week 4!
Our school has been a hive of activity over the past two weeks, with many wonderful events taking place across our community.
On Friday 8 May, students enjoyed spending special time with their mothers and mother figures in their classrooms. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces and the joy shared throughout the morning. Following the classroom activities, our mothers were treated to a delicious breakfast in the school hall and entertained by our very talented school choir, led by the wonderful Mrs Carroll.
It was truly a special morning celebrating the amazing mothers and mother figures in our school community. A huge thank you to our P&F for their hard work in organising the Mother’s Day stalls and breakfast and for helping make the event such a memorable occasion.
On Tuesday 5 May, our Year 6 students participated in a retreat day as part of their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The day, led by 24/7 Ministry, was filled with engaging and meaningful activities that helped students explore how the Sacrament of Confirmation can guide and strengthen them in their everyday lives.
Later that evening, students and their parents attended a Confirmation workshop together. The session provided valuable insights into the sacrament and encouraged meaningful reflection and discussion for both students and families. It was a highly successful and enriching experience for all involved.
A big thank you to the Year 6 teachers, Tilly Mickel and Emma De Laeter as well as Mrs Sabrina Reardon for attending the workshops.
Purple day for Epilepsy WA Thursday 28 May
We’re excited to be hosting a special school fundraiser in support of Epilepsy WA on Thursday, 28 May. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about epilepsy, show kindness, and make a positive difference in our school community.
Students and staff are encouraged to come to school wearing purple on the day and bring along a gold coin donation. There will also be a small range of fun, purple-themed items available for purchase, ranging from $2.00 to $5.00.
All funds raised will go towards supporting Epilepsy WA and the important work they do for individuals and families living with epilepsy.
We look forward to seeing our school community come together in a sea of purple for this meaningful cause!
School drop off and pick times
A gentle reminder to please be patient and considerate during drop-off and pick-up times. By showing kindness and patience, we can ensure everyone arrives and leaves safely each day. Please also note that the Early Childhood car park is reserved for families from Pre-Kindy to Pre-Primary only, and we ask that all families are mindful and respectful of our neighbours when parking.
As always, we are guided by our school motto to CARE for and RESPECT everyone.
School Photos
School photos are scheduled for Tuesday 19 May and Wednesday 20 May.
This week each student received a personalised shoot key to place orders for photos. A timetable with photo times will be made available early next week.
Students in Years 1–6 are required to wear their formal school uniform on their photo day. Kindy and Pre-Primary students should wear their usual sports uniform.
Please note that Pre-Kindy photos and Year 6 Graduation photos will take place later in Term 3.
Unwell students
As we move into the colder months, we kindly ask that unwell students are kept at home. If a child becomes unwell during the school day or presents symptoms of illness, our staff and school nurse will contact parents to arrange for them to go home. Sending sick children to school can affect the health and wellbeing of other students, staff, and their families. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support in helping us maintain a healthy school environment. For further guidance on how long children should stay home when sick, please refer to the recommendations on the WA Health website: https://www.health.wa.gov.au
Pupil Free Day & Public Holiday
Please note that Friday 29 May (Week 6) is a Pupil Free Day. While students have the day off, staff will be engaged in a full day of Professional Learning. Monday 1 June (Week 7) is a Public Holiday in Western Australia. Students will return to school on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

A Message from our School Nurse – Ms Andrea Mangan

As we head further into the term, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to our wonderful school community for the continued support, encouragement, and involvement in P&F events and initiatives. It’s been lovely seeing families connecting, volunteering, and helping create such a warm and welcoming environment for our children.
A very big thank you to everyone who supported our recent Mother’s Day event. It was such a beautiful morning celebrating the incredible mums, grandmothers, carers, and women in our community. Thank you especially to Ali Reddyhough and Bernicia Di Giorgio for leading and coordinating the event so beautifully. Your time, organisation, and effort is so very much appreciated. We are also incredibly grateful to the volunteers who assisted with setup, stalls, serving, and pack down to help make the morning such a success.
Planning is underway for our upcoming School Disco, and excitement is definitely building! The Disco Committee is organising what promises to be a really fun night for the students. We’ll be sharing more details soon but we are currently looking for parent volunteers to help on the night with setup, supervision, stalls, pack down, and general support. Even volunteering for a short shift makes a huge difference and helps the evening run smoothly for our children.
A quick reminder also that our Friday Ice Cream afternoons continue to be a fun little tradition for the students and an important fundraiser for the P&F. We are currently looking for a few more parent volunteers to help on Fridays — even if you can only assist occasionally, it really helps spread the load and keeps Friday icecreams running.
