Welcome to Term 3 Week 4!
The coming weeks promise to be an exciting and busy time at our school. Our Year 1 students are looking forward to their visit to Kalamunda History Village, while our talented choir members will proudly represent our school at the One Big Voice event.
We will also be celebrating Book Week in Week 6, with this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories. A range of engaging activities has been planned to inspire a love of reading and storytelling across the school. As part of the celebrations, we will hold our annual Book Week Parade on Wednesday, 26 August. We can’t wait to see the wonderful costumes and creativity on display as students bring their favourite book characters to life.
Parking and Drop-Off Reminder
Finding a parking space can sometimes be challenging, particularly during busy drop-off and pick-up times. To help ensure the safety and convenience of all families, we would like to remind our community of the parking arrangements at Christ the King School.
The ECE car park is reserved for families with children in Pre-Kindy, Kindy and Pre-Primary. Families whose children are in Years 1-6 are encouraged to use the loop for drop-offs and pick-ups or to utilise legal street parking where available.
As a valued member of our school community, please be considerate of our neighbours by ensuring driveways remain clear at all times and by avoiding parking on private property.
When using the ECE car park, safety must always come first. Please use designated walkways where possible and avoid walking through the middle of the car park or behind reversing vehicles. Taking these precautions helps keep everyone safe.
We greatly appreciate the cooperation of all families in following our parking procedures. If your family is eligible to use the ECE car park, please ensure your parking pass is displayed. If you require a parking pass, please visit the Front Office to collect one.

🎶 JRS Recess Singers now meets every Tuesday at recess—perfect for students who couldn’t attend before school due to Running Club.

Every student is also invited to perform at our school holiday community performances, giving them wonderful opportunities to share their voice and grow as performers in a supportive environment.
Whether your child is singing for fun or dreaming of the stage, we’d love to have them join us this term.

Unwell students
We kindly ask that unwell students are kept at home. If a child becomes unwell during the school day or presents symptoms of illness, our staff and school nurse will contact parents to arrange for them to go home. Sending sick children to school can affect the health and wellbeing of other students, staff, and their families. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support in helping us maintain a healthy school environment. For further guidance on how long children should stay home when sick, please refer to the recommendations on the WA Health website: https://www.health.wa.gov.au

As we move into another busy part of the school year, coming together for school events is about so much more than the event itself. These are the moments where our children have fun with their friends, parents get the chance to connect, new families become familiar faces, and we continue to build the sense of belonging that makes a school community special.
One of our next celebrations will be Father’s Day, and the P&F is looking forward to helping our students celebrate the dads, grandads and special people in their lives. We have some lovely things planned and look forward to sharing more with families very soon.
We can’t wait to celebrate Father’s Day!
Behind every one of these events is a group of parents and volunteers generously giving their time to make them happen. Sometimes it’s an hour setting up, helping on a stall or packing away; other times it’s simply attending an event and getting behind what is being organised. It all contributes.
That’s really what the P&F is about. Yes, we fundraise and organise events, but at the heart of it, we’re here to help create connection and community.
We would love to see more families getting involved as the year continues. You don’t need to be a P&F member or make a big commitment—come along, lend a hand when you can, introduce yourself to someone new and be part of it.
If you’re interested in helping out and have about an hour to spare, we have Lunch orders and Ice creams on each Friday. It’s a great way to get involved and help out children get their lunches on time and sell icy treats. Why not buddy up with a fellow parent, or with Kris, who can show you the ropes? There’s always someone to help if you need a hand! It’s a rewarding experience and we appreciate your support!
Thank you to those who have volunteered for this in the past! It truly helps with Fridays running smoothly especially since it’s our biggest lunch order day! Our school community is something we all share, and the more we each put into it, the stronger it becomes for our children.
