Help us to be practical a Christian these holidays, to appreciate what others do for us, to give time and effort to help others.
To be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; gives us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents and a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.

As we approach the end of another school term we can reflect on some enriching, memorable and successful events that have taken place at Christ the King School. We have many very committed and enthusiastic people, including staff, parents and children, who give their own time and talents to create a positive atmosphere at this school.
As a staff, we have maintained we are a Christ-Centred, Student Focused and Data Informed school. Through various events and activities this term, we feel that this focus continues to be achieved. The efforts of the students and the staff to reach out and assist those in need, whether that be through the funds raised with the various Mission activities, work in the classrooms, pastoral or extra-curricular work in the community – all members of Christ the King School are striving to meet this call. Congratulations and keep up the tremendous work.
Congratulations to our students from Yrs3-6 who made the Speak Up Awards Grand Final yesterday. This was a great showcase of the work completed in each classroom to build public speaking skills through oral language development. Awesome effort and well done to our comperes, Tessa, Head Girl and Bailen, Head Boy for leading the awards. We thank Mrs Tucker and Mr Crooks from CEWA Teaching and Learning Team who were our judges. Thank you, Mrs Doecke and Mrs Barrett for coordinating the Speak up Awards. Thank you, Miss Kezic for creating the certificates for each child who made the grand final, awesome work! A very big thank you to the Yrs3-6 class teachers who completed the body of work required to help get us to the grand final.

The winners from Years 4-6 will represent our school at the Interschool Speak Up Awards next term.
A reminder, staff commence term three on Monday, 21 July for our Berry Street PD. All students start on Tuesday, 22 July.
NAIDOC stands for National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee.
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year. National NAIDOC Week 2025 runs from 6-13 July and marks 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture, and resilience.
The 2025 theme is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy.
It celebrates past achievements and the bright future ahead, empowered by our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. You can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through activities and events held across the country. Across every generation, our Elders have played, and continue to play, an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families. Thank you, Mr Geaney, Ms Wayne, Mrs Gibson, Mrs Salerno, Mrs Taniwha, Mrs Dunn and Mrs Onoforo for leading this.
Congratulations to the Yr6 League Tag team for winning the championship last Friday. Modcrosse finished second behind St Pat’s. Both teams performed outstandingly. Thank you, Mrs McLinden and Mr Geaney for the coaching and umpiring and thank you, Miss Kezic for being there to support both teams and take photos.
Congratulations and bravo to the Yr6 MasterChefs who created master pieces for their Grand Final last Monday! Thank you students, parents and staff for giving this wonderful initiative the special attention it deserved. A HUGE thank you, Yr6 students, their parents, Miss Kezic and Mrs Barrett for making this possible, awesome work, vision and effort!
To all our EAs, thank you as you have once again worked so solidly as a team. I observe all the outstanding work each of you do and the role you play. You are the heartbeat of our school and we all admire, respect, value and appreciate the work you have done and continue to do, bravo ladies and gents!
Thank You Staff – As we approach the end of Semester One, I thank the staff of Christ the King who are an exceptional group of dedicated professionals. I am constantly in awe of their commitment. The depths of their conversations reflect professionals who have a highly developed understanding of good pedagogical practice. I wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge all their wonderful work. May God bless each and every one of them and may they find comfort in the knowledge their vocations as teacher, sages and educators are a lofty and most honourable calling.
I wish to congratulate our students on their commitment to their learning. Their resiliency and tenacity are certainly a wonderful example to us all. I sincerely thank our parent community for their support and encouragement throughout this semester. It has been a privilege to work alongside the children as they define our TRUE values of Christ the King School.
A very big thank you also to our P&F who have worked tirelessly once again this term. I really enjoy our meetings as the discussions are always around improving school resources and the learning journey of all children in our school. You have achieved so much for our community, and it has been great fun!
Thank you to the Advisory Council for their support in my endeavours to have a future focus for our school. All our SAC members do a tremendous job in making many important financial decisions and keeping our school financially viable. It is exciting to see the SAC involving themselves in sub-committees like Risk Audit and Maintenance, Marketing and Capital Development.
Thank you, Mr Dom for doing so much around our school. We are all so grateful for the amazing work you do, well done young fella!
Thank you, Mrs Reardon, Mrs Seaward, Mrs Barrett, Mrs Painter, Miss Williams and Mrs Luelf for being such a great leadership team. It has been wonderful seeing you take on tasks and complete them with such precision and professionalism, awesome job all!
Making Jesus Real Award – MJR Award
The MJR Award will recognise an individual who has been identified by school members as ‘making Jesus Real’ by demonstrating CtK values and qualities representative of Jesus and our school. Students, staff, parents and community members are invited to nominate any member of the school/parish community for the award, providing a reason for their nomination. The nominations will be counted, and the award will be presented at a ceremony where the whole school is present. The nomination box and nomination slips will be located in the school office from Tuesday, 22 July.
The person who earns the MJR Award will receive a certificate and will foster the school mascot, Christian the Bear for two weeks. The recipient will also have his/her photo taken and be interviewed, which will be on display in the school office.
The MJR Award seeks to recognise people doing their best for themselves and for others in our community. The person nominated will embody our chosen CtK Values for each term. Term Three will be highlighting two CtK Values- Inclusiveness and Respect. All students, staff, parents, parishioners and helpers are eligible for the MJR Award. The MJR Award will be presented at least twice a term. All staff and students have had this new initiative explained to them by the Student Council.
I leave you with these thoughts for the holidays. A time when you may need a little more patience and understanding of your children.
