We ask Mary to pray for our school community, our families, and all those in need. May she lead us always closer to Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Welcome to Week 4!
As we approach the end of Week 4, it has been wonderful to see the strong learning taking place across our school. Our staff continue to work diligently to provide high-quality programs, and it has been especially pleasing to visit classrooms and see teaching and learning in action.
We remain committed to maintaining consistent routines and minimising disruptions to support our students’ learning. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact your child’s classroom or specialist teacher in the first instance. Open communication plays an important role in helping every child succeed.
This term, we warmly welcome Miss Tilly Mickel to the CtK staff. Miss Mickel is teaching Year 6 Gold for the remainder of the year. We also welcome Mrs Pauline Burwood, who is currently teaching Year 1 Gold (Monday to Thursday) until the end of Term 2. Both educators are doing a fantastic job and have felt very welcomed into our beautiful school community. Please introduce yourself, if you can!
Sacramental Programs – Years 3, 4 & 6
Our Year 3 students have taken part in their Reconciliation Retreat & Parent/Student Workshop and our students are currently receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation – what a special time for them!
Our Years 4’s will have their Sacramental Retreat and Workshop soon, led by the wonderful 24/7 Youth Ministry team. Our Year 6 cohort had their Sacramental Retreat and Parent/Student Workshop last week. Thank you to our staff and parents for your support. Please keep our students in your prayers as they prepare for their Sacraments.

CtK Cross Country (PP-6)
What a fantastic day we had at our CtK Cross Country Carnival! Thank you to Ms Marg McLinden, Ms Helen King and Mr Dom for organising such a successful event and to our amazing staff and parent volunteers who made it all possible. Running Club continues each Tuesday and Thursday morning on the school oval, with a coffee van onsite for parents. There will be NO RUNNING CLUB next Tuesday 19 May, due to school photos! Thank you for your continued support!
Mother’s Day 2026
The Mother’s Day Stalls was a great success, thanks to the dedication of our P&F team. On Friday 8 May, we hosted the Mother’s Day classroom visits and a morning tea, coordinated by the P&F. The atmosphere around the school was warm, with many Mum’s enjoying a hot cuppa and delicious treats. Huge thanks to Michelle, Mel, Nat, Mary-Rose, Ang, Ali, Bernicia and the team for creating such a lovely event. It was wonderful to see the Dad’s and Grandad’s help on the morning too! What a great community we have at CtK! We hope you all had a special day celebrating Mother’s Day!
All Abilities Nature Playground Update
The All Abilities Nature Playground project is progressing beautifully, with several major elements now secured and underway. The P&F has officially purchased a five-way swing featuring both standard and all-abilities swings, along with an accessible wheelchair whirly-go-round to help ensure inclusive play opportunities for all children. In addition, the P&F has secured a near-new nature playground at a significantly reduced cost, which will be modified and installed onsite.
The playground area has now been marked out on the oval near the after-school collection area, with final layouts, colours, and softfall selections currently being confirmed. Additional sensory play items may also be incorporated into the project over the coming weeks.
A very special thank you to Richelle Willis (Parent of Charlie and Lachlan) whose hard work, expertise, and dedication behind the scenes have played a significant role in bringing this project to life. With her support and guidance, this exciting initiative has been able to move forward and become a reality for our school community. We are incredibly excited to see this space come together and are aiming for completion by the beginning of Term 3.

Attendance & Extended Leave
Consistent attendance is key to your child’s learning and overall progress. If your family is planning to be away for five or more school days, please complete an Extended Absence Form. This form is available from the school office, on our school website or can be downloaded here. All extended absences must be submitted in advance and approved by the Principal. Thank you for helping us support your child’s learning journey.
Punctuality Matters
Our classroom doors open at 8.28am. Please aim to arrive between 8.28am and 8.40am. Being on time helps students start the day calmly and confidently. Students arriving after 8.40am must sign in at the front office.
Pick-Up Time
Students must be collected on time at 2.45pm (Kindy/Pre-Kindy) and 3pm (PP–Year 6). If you’re delayed, please arrange alternative pick-up or use Village OSHC. Calling at 3pm makes it very difficult for us to relay messages in time, so thank you for always planning ahead.

Kindergarten Enrolments 2027
If you have a child who is due to attend Kindy next year, or you know someone who has a child that age, please encourage them to submit an application as soon as possible. Our Kindy program has proved to be extremely popular over the last few years, and it is advised that parents and carers submit an application sooner rather than later. If your child is in the three year old program, you do not need to submit another application. We will send you an intention to re-enrol form, later in the year.
Three Year Old Kindy 2027
Our school will be offering a Three Year Old Kindy Program for children who turn three, in 2027. Pre-Kindy will run for 4 days in 2027. Please contact the school office for more information.
Best Wishes Mrs Barrett
We wish Mrs Sophie Barrett and her husband Josh, all the very best as they prepare for the arrival of their first baby. Mrs Barrett’s last day will be Friday 15 May, 2026. We look forward to hearing their wonderful news soon!
Did you know that……
- We thank our CtK Head Girl Charlotte, and Head Boy Caelan for leading our first School Tour so well on Monday! We are SO proud of you both!
- Pre-Kindy and Kindy students enjoyed learning about their mums, grandmothers, and mother figures last week, even treating them to a special in-class pamper session and a ‘sip and paint’ afternoon! Such a lovely celebration!
- Mrs Da Silva and Mrs Letizia, two of our wonderful EAs, completed a 35 km run on Saturday 2 May, in support and recognition of women’s cancer. Well done, ladies!
- We will sadly farewell Miss Purtell at the end of Term 2 as she relocates to Melbourne. She will be greatly missed as part of our CtK community.
- Mr Geaney is leading the staff AFL footy tipping competition for 2026 – can you believe it?
